Well i never got word back and its been 6 weeks now starting the 7th since i asked permission to teach at facility. I enjoyed teaching there but as the world turns i guess all things come to an end. teaching 4 days a week was fun and i enjoyed a year and a half of it. If anyone knows where there is teaching needed let us
Today was rainy and cold. I thought folks would be in their camps and ready to talk and be ministered to but i was wrong. See each year the Christmas season brings out folks who just hand stuff out, which is nice....but after 2 Jan they wont be seen again till next Thanksgiving. These folks are Homeless year round not just December...Please take that into consideration. i mean food and supplies and so everyone was under the main bridges except 3 folks. But we don't take time away, i don't get time off from this ministry. This time of year we look for deeply hidden camps and try to connect more with the few folks in the camps see if they is new needs or what the status of the current camps are. This time last year we already had a couple of folks freeze to death and by April there was rapes at knife point and murders along with it. So you really have to know the area to function in it. See today we found two guys who everything they had got wet from where the rain flooded their tent. We gave food, blankets, hoodies etc...So good thing we went out. Stay true to your calling stay focused on your goal and be ready to minister in a moments notice. Rain or shine uWo is there..... We dont need any more clothes...they are overflowing out of the room and are actually bagged and coverd with a tarp.
We DO need blankets and jackets and toboggans Homez Update:
Today was really good. Folks was happy and friendly, a little sunshine will do that. Had two new volunteers come out and they spoke to some folks and really connected and made a Homiez woman feel better. Food was nice to give out, we didnt do blankets because we done a special blanket run on Saturday. Found out a bunch of our camp regulars are in jail, PI, theft, break ins....just crazy reason. Just poor thinking, trying to beat the system. We got great donations Friday water, jackets, ramen noodles...all kinds of stuff. We got blankets from UT and visitors from the ATL. Thank u all so much. |
