Yea today was warm.
Today was like anyother.
Today the small group that went out got to see and hear first hand the affect uWo has had on the homeless.
... A man who weve helped for 3 years now has come on to some worse times. In is emotional monologue that lasted 40 min or so we got to hear the hows, whos and whys of his life and those who he trusts. Prison time, home life.....regrets He became escalted a few times, used profanity opn a camp mate... but you know he has some hard choices to make tonight and he was venting. The main concern was that the camp mates were safe. We talked a good while and prayed before we left with everyone. He was calmed a good while at this point, we didnt leave him escalated...
They talk about us around the fire. They pray for uWo to be safe and to continue to help them. Until you hear it out of the mouth of those affected itll never be realized.
As we continued with the mission i met a Navy vet who was 54 and we talked a good 20 or so minutes. I let the truck go on and come back for me. I see the difference is now in the light.
Some groups may give folks stuff or hand it off but it seems becasue we talk and inquire and hang out....its as big adeal as giving them stuff.
I must say that i am upset with folks that use ministry for self glory and yea i know a few, who ride on these folks pain not to help. To glorify what? To raise what status?
The pain is real it manifested today in tears, harsh words and depression.
on a lighter note...
I hope yall seen the water donated to us by Corryton church...awsome. 2 pallets of it and a place to store it....Thank U.
