Cool day, not to hot or humid. Small group went out(3) but we took time at each camp to talk and dig into personal needs. Most of our Krew is in Belize doing mission work.
Village Two was nice although Jerry hid from us becasue he was drinking. Oh well, we still sat and talked with Lou and Red about their new tent and dog care. It amazes me that some of these guys have a home to go to but dont for one...but for two, the families that buy them stuff while they are homless by choice. Id like to talk to the family members and see thier perspective on all this. We found Tumbleweed with a dog now and had food for it, a big bag, but no food for him...luckily we had food donated and his belly was filled.
What would i ask?
Hows does it make you feel?
Do you worry?
When did this begin?
What would it take to get them home?
8 cases of water went out and almost all our food too.
We talked Gospel with two folks for about 45 min, hearing how they feel about it and what misconceptions they have been told or heard...If you can minister and teach 8 year old kids, you can teach Homiez. Alot of them are not all there mentally.
Afterward we linked up with Butterfly Ministries to minister at Serene Manor. I took the wife on this one, she needed to see the hoplessness and despair that runs rampant. No fault to the staff all seem cheerful and fine but the over all attitude there among the clients is jsut down for those sane enough to know where they are. It was very eye opening again, it affected me emotionally like the Homiez did 3 years ago. Alotta folks get caught up in the excitment and adventure of Homiez outreach but in this concrete and steel building these senoirs are either prisioners of thier mind or body. The staff praised all of us for being there.
we do need a tent and some bug spra
