Homiez update:
Good day, the rain had stopped and wasnt much mud. It got hot that fast.
Folks were happy and asked for prayer. One woman was thanking God for her shoes, socks even underwear..funny how things change perception once your financial net is removed.
Sometimes God sinks the ship to save you..
Red at village 2 was real talkative, more than ususal and was giving us the rundown of the area situation.
Under the bridge all our food went out. I have no more snack cakes or snack crakers anymore by the way..
All of our Krew was in Cleavland doing a high/mid school retreat so me n the wife left out early alone...then i got a call. From a guy who hadnt been on alomost 19 months. This guy Vern well call him, was there at uWo inception. He noted how different it was going into the camps and woods now and not jsut on the streets.
Prayers were handed out as well as supplies and Christs love. Some gospel was preached as well. Had a guy trying to sell me a leather jacket for $400....yep. and he was in a wheel chair right. As we got back in the truck he stood up, walked around a
bit and pushed his chair away..
At the main road area where the Homiez all gather near the Mission, we walked out and handed out water bottles. this is
where oyu see the drugs and beat up folks, wounds open, folks talking to they selves, Etc.. it changes you perspective on the Homiez. Yes the camps are dangerous, but I personally feel danger more up on the concrete...dont know why.
On we went to the Fornt porch, an old hotel on 5th ave and our food was well recieved. A couple of folks were getting greedy and snatching and i was gonna call them down but i know they are hungry, and i got more food in the
truck. So the folks who thought we ran out got food too. So everybody was happy.
We did see our local Bangers dealing and pimping. One young feller sporting a red polo shirt was placing his girls on the corners he needed
them at. So sad. even IF we could take them away from that they would run
back...gotta get the mind right..
Some times its hard to
watch.
